Parish Life
Fellowship
We gather for food and fellowship every Sunday after service in Herbert Harrison Hall.
In addition to Sunday morning adult education and worship, the adults of our church are involved in a variety of dinners, missions, and small groups as specific topics of interest and need arise during the year. A group of our seniors meet every month for card games and lunch. Once a month, a group of folks attend a movie and go out for coffee after. We even spend a weekend camping together.
Outreach Ministry
Our church has a long history of serving the greater community. We are deeply involved in local, national, and international mission through a number of different organizations, including Walpole Food Pantry, City Mission Society, Bread for the World, Interfaith AIDS ministry, Heifer Project, and more. In addition, we participate in many hands-on ministries; we periodically coordinate a meal for the weekly meal program in Walpole - "Breaking Bread" and many members of our church take part in a week-long mission trip during the summer. As a church, we also find ourselves called to advocacy and are involved in a number of letter writing and post card campaigns urging local and national government to place the least of Jesus' kingdom at the top of their agenda. We are always interested in new and innovative ways to make a difference in the world and welcome anyone who desires to help.
Choir
Under the direction of Dr. Linda Jiorle-Nagy, our talented choir sings every Sunday from September through June as well as at special services and events. All voices are welcome at choir rehearsal, held each Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm at the church. Also, a Jr. Choir for Children sings several times throughout the year.
Prayer Meeting
At 8 PM on the first Monday of the month we gather for prayer. We first discuss how our prayer lives are going. We share prayer requests with one another. We pray together. We conclude by 9 PM at the latest.
